'Fit Kit' by David Wood

Sustainability Part 1:

One often overlooked benefit of our “Fit Kit” philosophy (buy less, but buy better) is the sustainability of clothing made well. Part of sustainability is making repairs and adjustments when needed – whether it be due to weight gain or loss, or to simply adjust for current styles.

Below, you’ll find a few suggestions for alterations and repairs we can perform in our tailor shop.

• Shirts can be taken in through the sides giving them a more modern look and feel.

• Sweaters with worn elbows can have elbow patches installed.

• Loose or missing buttons can be sewn or replaced.

• Jackets can be trimmed in – moving from “old school” boxy to a more modern style.

• Sometimes, relining a coat or jacket will give the garment a second life.

• Shortening or lengthening the sleeves of shirts and jackets can change an OK fit to a PERFECT fit.

• Taking out the pleats of pants and trimming the legs can do wonders to the psyche of the wearer!
